Does this cost extra from my carrier?

Some carriers charge $0–$3/mo for call forwarding. AT&T and Verizon typically include it on business plans at no extra cost.

Can I still answer calls myself?

Yes. You can forward conditionally (only when you're on another call or don't answer) so you still get first crack. Or forward unconditionally and just pick up if you see the call coming.

What if I want to keep my original number?

You keep everything. This just adds a second path for calls. Your number, your carrier, your phone — unchanged.

I forwarded but the AI doesn't pick up.
